The Dayton Area Board of Realtors (DABR) swore in the 2017 officers and directors at the Realtors Installation Reception, held at the Dayton Art Institute on January 12th. The highlight of the event was the inauguration of Karen O’Grady as president of the 2800-member association.
O’Grady, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Heritage, has been a Realtor at the Dayton Area Board of Realtors since 1972. In 2015 she served as DABR treasurer and chairperson of the finance committee, and in 2016 she was elected president-elect and oversaw a number of committees and projects.
2014 National Association of Realtors president Steven Brown was on hand to swear in O’Grady as president. “2017 will be about forging new relationships,” O’Grady stated during her inauguration. “Reaching consumers and members in new digital ways, and working closely with and providing data to our elected community leaders will be a priority. International real estate and global business is booming in our back yard, and we will be capturing that with the launch of our regional partnership, the Southern Ohio Global Alliance.”
Other board officers installed include Bob Morrison, president-elect, and Jan Leverett, treasurer. Associated with Irongate Realtors, Morrison has been a Realtor since 1999, and Leverett, also associated with Irongate Realtors, has been a Realtor for ten years.
Members elected or re-elected to the Board of Directors are Lisa Arzate, associated with Coldwell Banker Heritage; Mark Kottman and Benita Wenzler, associated with HER Realtors; Karen Huelsman and Linda Shurte, associated with Irongate Realtors; Eric Brown, associated with EB Real Estate; Timothy Albro, associated with Crest Commercial Realty, and Jeannie Wilkinson with M&M Title.
