Dayton REALTORS® will be at Poelking Woodman Lanes in Kettering from 1-3pm on Friday, April 20, to lend their support to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley (BBBS). REALTORS® from all around the Dayton area will participate in “Bowl for Kids’ Sake”, putting on their bowling shoes and hitting the lanes in a quest for strikes to raise money for BBBS. It’s just one of the ways REALTORS® give back to the Dayton community.
“Community service is a core value of REALTORS®,” stated Bob Morrison, president of Dayton REALTORS®. “Big Brothers Big Sisters is just a wonderful organization, and we are proud to take part in an event that helps to enhance children’s lives. The teams are made up of real estate firms and families competing against one another, but regardless of who gets the high score, BBBS kids will be the big winners. It’s going to be great fun!”
BBBS has been taking part in “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” since 2007. The local organization’s second largest fundraiser, “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” raises more than $70,000 each year to help children facing adversity in the greater Miami Valley succeed in school and in life. BBBS relies on donations to carefully pair children with caring adult mentors and to provide consistent match support for the volunteers, children and their families so that the mentoring lasts and the outcomes are positive.
As members of the community, REALTORS® take part in a number of community initiatives throughout the year, from volunteering with Rebuilding Together to rehab homes, to donating money and materials to Dayton area schools and credit counseling services. The Dayton REALTORS® Foundation provides scholarships to dependents of REALTORS®, and their annual holiday reception serves as Dayton’s largest source of donated toys to the Marine Corp’s Toys for Tots.
“Bowl for Kids’ Sake” will take place on Friday, April 20 from 1pm until 3pm at Poelking Woodman Lanes. To take part in this event, visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters website.
