DABR is pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the upcoming election for the Board of Directors and Treasurer for the term commencing January 1, 2018. Voting for these candidates begins Monday, October 16 and will conclude on Monday, October 23 at Noon. The results of the election will be announced at the Membership Luncheon on Tuesday, October 24.

Greg Blatt

Recognized as a dynamic entrepreneur, real estate broker, business leader, trainer, coach and visionary, Greg thrives on the challenge of building businesses but his true passion is to help others succeed.

As a thirty-eight year real estate veteran, Greg has developed a vast array of knowledge and skills within the industry. His expertise spans residential and commercial/investment sales. Greg has owned and operated two successful real estate companies in the Dayton area. He understands the perspective of sales associates and brokers alike.

Greg has served as a member and chairperson on a multitude of committees at DABR and OAR. He is in his third term as a DABR and OAR Director.

Greg sees many challenges facing the real estate industry today. Outsiders threaten to insert themselves into many vital roles the REALTOR® has traditionally provided the consumer. “This may be our greatest threat,” Greg explains and he vows to work diligently to ensure the REALTOR® remains relevant in the transaction and the REALTOR® brand remains “THE Voice of Real Estate” in the marketplace.

Sham Reddy

Sham served as a Director on DABR and OAR Boards for several years. He is an approved Instructor for CE in Ohio and Kentucky. He is 2010 REALTOR® of the year, 2014 Community Service award winner, and 2002 “Get by Giving” Award winner.

Sham received a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from City University of New York in 1975, and switched to Real Estate in 1992. Currently with HER REALTORS®, Sham is well recognized in the real estate community for volunteer work, contributions to fair housing principles and leadership roles at DABR. His specialty is working with real estate investors and first time home buyers, with effective use of creative financing strategies.

Sham is very active in the community and real estate industry, past-president of Ohio Real Estate Investors Association (OREIA) and Greater Dayton Real Estate Investors Association (GDREIA) multiple times.

Sham lives in Dayton area with his wife of 39 years with 3 grown children in professional fields; the oldest served a tour of duty in the Middle East. Sham’s hobbies are gardening and volunteering.

Cyndi Scarpelli

Cyndi considers it an honor to manage the REALTORS® at Sibcy Cline Beavercreek. She just celebrated her 10 year anniversary there! Being a mentor and coach to 50 agents is something she loves to do, and feels is very rewarding. Cyndi has had the pleasure of serving at DABR on many levels; Finance Committee, co-chairing the Community Service Committee, being on many task force committees, and being part of the 1st Leadership Development Program!

Serving on a local level as a director with DABR has allowed her to advocate for our membership. She strives to represent every REALTOR® to the best of her abilities. Serving on the state level as Director with our OAR, she has an open door to voice our concerns. Cyndi believes in the importance of our DARPAC, and that every member of our DABR needs someone to advocate on their behalf.

Cyndi’s been married to her high school sweetheart, Tom, for over 28 years. Mom to married children; Alyssa (a Chef in NY) and Nick (a pilot in the USAF).

Laurie Johnson

Laurie is an Associate Partner with Coldwell Banker Heritage, where she has been a REALTOR® since 2008. She previously was with another Miami County firm for 20 years. Laurie was licensed in 1988 and earned her Brokers license in 2003. She has been active in both the MOAR Board of REALTORS® as well as DABR and OAR.

Laurie has been a top producer with both companies and understands the business. She understands the needs of the real estate community locally and statewide. Laurie is a Sterling R RPAC supporter and our District #5 VP for OAR.

Laurie is very active in her community, member of the Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of the Future Begins Today and she is a lunch buddy at the Troy Schools. She has also been active with Habitat for Humanity. Laurie and her husband have lived in Troy for 31 years and have been married for 39 years with two grown sons.

Kelly McCormick

Kelly is a regional director and broker with BHHS Professional Realty. She is a licensed REALTOR® (for over twenty-five years) and is a member of DABR (since 2003). Kelly has served on several DABR committees as a member and a chairperson; she is also a committee member of OAR.

Kelly is excited about the opportunity to be a part of the DABR Board of Directors! As part of the Board, she would collaborate and share real estate insight within the Board of Directors and DABR membership. Kelly would advocate for policy changes as needed, communicate with DABR membership, celebrate successes, and address concerns. She will listen and do her best to effectively represent the DABR membership.

Kelly enjoys her two daughters and five grandkids! She loves to entertain, cook, travel, and discover places to dine or relax with her husband Donald of 31 years. Kelly is an active member of St. Luke’s, Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, CRS candidate member, ABR, National Military Family Association, Puerto Rican Cultural Society, and Dayton Art Institute.

Jennifer R. Moore

Jennifer is the sales manager for the Beavercreek Office of Coldwell Banker Heritage REALTORS®. Prior to taking the position, she was a senior sales associate for the Springboro Coldwell Banker Office. She is a lifelong resident of the Greater Dayton area and has been a REALTOR® since 2004. She attended the Miami Valley School foreign up and then went on to the University Of Dayton to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations with a concentration in Public Relations and a Minor in Sociology.

Jennifer has been an active member at DABR and has served on the RPAC (now DARPAC) committee for many years and acted as the chair, vice-chair and committee member. Additionally, she has served on the Grievance Committee for 2 years.

Aside from her real estate career, she has been a member of the Miami Valley School’s Alumni counsel and served for the past 2 years as the vice president. She loves traveling, the arts, hiking, kayaking, rappelling and spending time with her 14 year old son, Jake.

Guy M. Roth

Guy is a broker/owner of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Big Hill. Guy holds a B.S.B.A. in Real Estate & Urban Analysis from The Ohio State University. With over 30 years in residential and commercial sales, he has served 18 years as a DABR director. Guy has been chairman and vice chair of the Professional Stadards and Grievance Committees. He has also served on the Education, Forms, Building Advisory, Nominating, MLS, Strategic Planning, Commercial/ Industrial, Equal Opportunity, Holiday Reception and Picnic committees. An OAR and DABR sales award recipient, OAR Trustee/ Director, RPAC contributor and more, Guy was raised in a real estate family and has been a full time REALTOR® since college graduation. Guy has always and will continue to serve the whole DABR membership in all real estate related issues.

Deb Sasser

Deb is an associate partner/broker with Coldwell Banker Heritage and the manager of their Vandalia office. She has previously served on the DABR Board of Directors, the OAR Board of Directors, the OAR Executive Committee and is a past-president of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®. She has served as the chairman of several committees at the state and local level. In 2013 Deb was voted Salesperson of the Year for DABR.

Deb also teaches real estate pre and post license classes at Sinclair and Hondros. She truly enjoys helping new agents learn and grow in the business. To make sure that she offers her best to those that she works with and teaches, Deb continually keeps herself up to date with the new and exciting trends in the industry and the changes that directly affect our business. She is an advocate for the real estate community and takes her profession very seriously. As an agent, broker and manager she has a balanced understanding and appreciation of the needs of the DABR membership.

Grace Siefer

Grace has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1997 and is under the employ of Bechtel REALTORS®. She has always been an active member within the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® and the Cincinnati Board of REALTORS®. With years of public service under her belt, Grace Siefer is well versed on the responsibilities and dedication that are required of leadership positions. She currently serves on the Grievance Committee and Forms Committee and has always been an active participant and volunteer as well. She volunteers her time at local hospitals, offering aid to those in need and within her family church as an Usher. Most REALTORS® will recognize her from her volunteering efforts at the annual DABR Holiday Reception. Grace is known for her honesty and integrity and takes great pride in the responsibilities involved within her leadership positions. Born and raised in Italy, and speaking fluent Italian, Grace has a knack for offering guidance and direction while still successfully executing tasks and managing diplomacy.

Phil Sparks

Shortly after becoming a REALTOR® in 1994, Phil became active at the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS®. In the past 20 years Phil has served on numerous committees, including Professional Standards, Partners in Education, Strategic Planning, Grievance, Professional Development, Equal Opportunity, Forms and MLS committees, as well as chairing the Legislative/RPAC Committee (2005). Shortly after becoming licensed as a broker (2004), Phil served one previous term on the Board of Directors in 2006 and 2007.

As a member of the Board of Trustees at Friendship Village (for more than 20 years), the Beavercreek Rotary Club, and various chambers of commerce, Phil has long been active in serving his communities.

With experience in both the residential and commercial arenas, Phil is currently associated with Irongate, Inc. REALTORS®as a broker associate.

Barb Waddell

Barb Waddell, ABR, CRS, GRI, SRS, SRES. The five designations are your first indication that Barb takes real estate and being a REALTOR® very seriously. Licensed since 1999, a consistent OAR, DABR and Irongate Sales Leader, a Realtist, a member of Women’s Council of REALTORS®, Barb has been active in all aspects of the industry – including serving on, and chairing, numerous DABR committees, as well as completing its leadership program. Barb does everything with her whole heart.

A graduate of Hondros, Sinclair and Wright State, Barb loves Dayton and the people of Dayton, which is why she became a Dayton Regional Ambassador in 2013, and mentors teenage girls in crisis. But Barb’s interests are not just local. Whether it was leading a team to New York after the World Trade Center fell to serve Thanksgiving meals, or working as a volunteer teacher in rural orphanages in Swaziland, Barb strives to make the world a better place through everything she does.
