On January 12, Dayton REALTORS® announced the recipients of the 2022 Good Neighbor, Owner/Manager, and REALTOR® of the Year Awards during the Dayton REALTORS® Installation. They also honored one member with the Distinguished Career Award and announced recipients of the YPN Top 5 Under 40. Their contributions to the real estate industry, the community, and the REALTOR® organization are greatly appreciated.
Distinguished Career Award – Guy Roth, associated with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Big Hill, has been a member of Dayton REALTORS for 37 years, having received a real estate sales license in 1979 and a broker license in 1989. His involvement with Dayton REALTORS® began in the 1980s as a member of the Legislative and Education committees and has continued by serving on many other committees over the past 30 years. He is currently serving his 5th term on the Board of Directors. This outstanding commitment resulted in receiving the Dayton REALTORS®’ Owner/Manager of the Year award in 2000. Guy’s leadership involvement with Ohio REALTORS® consists of serving as a trustee a number of times since 1996. Be it the Holiday Reception, awards banquet, installation dinner or membership luncheon, our recipient has been a supportive presence or participant at Dayton REALTORS® functions throughout the years. Guy was born into a real estate family and has chosen to serve the REALTOR® community through his commitment to Dayton REALTORS®, members, brokers, and the interests of property owners.
REALTOR® of the Year – Jan Leverett, has been a member of the REALTOR® organization since 2006 and was a graduate of the Dayton REALTORS® Leadership Development Program in 2013 and currently holds the SRES designation. She served as a Dayton REALTORS® director from 2015 through 2020. In addition to serving as Dayton REALTORS® president in 2019, Jan has chaired or participated on many Board committees including Finance, Executive, Recognition, Professional Development, Strategic Planning and Holiday Reception. For the Ohio REALTORS®, she served as a director from 2016 through 2022. She also served on Ohio REALTORS®’ committees or forums for Professional Development, Legislative, Local Government, Property Management/Investment and Legal Issues. At the National Association of REALTORS® Jan served as a Large Board Representative on their 2019 Board of Directors. Her involvement is not limited to Dayton REALTORS®, Ohio REALTORS® or NAR. She has also served in leadership positions with Women’s Council of REALTORS® Dayton Chapter. As an active participant in our community, Jan is involved with the Women in Biz Network, Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission and LDS Youth Leadership.
Owner / Manager of the Year – Jeff Spring, has been licensed since 2007 and holds the C2EX and At Home with Diversity certifications. He currently participates on the Forms, Government Affairs and Professional Standards committees and has served on the Leadership Credentials, CEO Search Committee and Coming Soon Task Forces. For Ohio REALTORS®, he has served as an Ohio REALTORS®’ Director in 2021 and 2022. Even while managing a busy office with ninety agents, Jeff has found time to teach classes on assorted topics to keep agents up to speed on the latest trends. He has received previous honors by being a two-time recipient of the Rich Heben MVP Award, an award chosen by Coldwell Banker Heritage peers to honor the willingness to serve without expecting anything in return. His community involvement volunteering with the United Way, Habitat for Humanity and Donate Life Ohio.
REALTOR® Good Neighbor Award – Kunal Patel, has been involved with many community organizations. He received a real estate sales license in 2013 and a broker license in 2018. His community service involvement is extensive and far-reaching. As board president for SICSA, Kunal helped secure funding for their new multi-million dollar building and led their board members in their strategic planning to expand and increase corporate donations and sponsorships. His involvement with ReBuilding Together Dayton as a community advocate promotes home ownership and pride by bringing together skilled trade individuals with volunteers to upgrade homes of residents in need. As an advocate for Clothes that Work our honoree raised over $3, 000 for their Men at Work campaign.
In addition to receiving this award Dayton REALTORS will make a donation in the amount of $250 to an organization of Kunal’s choice.
Also during the ceremonies, the Young Professional Network’s “Top 5 Under 40” Awards were also presented at the reception. The “Top Five Under 40” recognized future leaders of the organization based on community involvement, sales volume, and participation in Dayton REALTORS® activities. The recipients were Natasha Denlinger with EB Real Estate, Scottie Meeker with Home Experts Realty, Angie Viers-Orndorff with Bella Realty Group, Ruth Reed with Irongate, Inc., and Kristen Grasser Woudstra with Coldwell Banker Heritage.
